Nancy O'Dell began her broadcast career as an anchor and reporter at WPDE-TV which was located in Myrtle Beach South Carolina. In the following years, she worked as a morning news anchor and the crime reporter at WCBD TV. O'Dell's reportage on the streets of Charleston about the police's leniency toward DUI cases resulted in being the State Law Enforcement Division investigating the DUI incidents.
