Mena Alexandra (born on February 13, 1979) is an actress and model from the United States. After a brief stint as a model for fashion and then a transition to acting when she appeared as guest actors on television shows like Boy Meets World in the 1990s and High Incident. The actress made her debut in film in the 1997 documentary Nowhere. After her performances in American Beauty (for which she was awarded a BAFTA Award) and American Pie which attracted her much attention, she completed the transition to major parts. After that, she appeared as the protagonist in Sugar & Spice (2000) with American Pie star Jason Biggs. She had appearances in the 2002 independent drama Spun and the 2004 thriller film Trauma. In HBO's drama show Six Feet Under. In 2004 she received an award for an Outstanding Cast member at the Screen Actors Guild Awards. The show also featured her in the film version of Day of Dead and The Mysteries of Pittsburgh, as well as the movie adaptation of The Garden of Eden. Suvari is a modeling model for Lancome cosmetics as well as print ads for Lancome Paris Adaptive and has been featured on numerous magazines and fashion blogs including Vogue. Suvari is a strong supporter and advocate for the African Medical and Research Foundation which is a well-known charity that offers assistance to the African continent. She is also engaged in the issue of women empowerment and has been involved in charities whose cause is breast cancer as well as the End Violence Against Women campaign.
