Richard B. Cheney is famous American public servant, businessman and politician. Cheney, a well-known face on the scene of Washington politics has worked under four presidents of the US. George W. Bush is the fourth. Bush picked Cheney to be his vice-presidential running mate in July 2000 citing Cheney's insight judgment and experience. Dick Cheney was a chief of staff to presidents. He also was a member of the United States Congress as Secretary of Defense and was a part of his country in many positions. Republicans as well as Democrats alike respect his honesty. Cheney said that his job in the Bush administration will be that of a transparent but disinterested adviser. Cheney has stated in accepting his role as Republican vice president that he would like to be a president candidate who can work cross-partisan and to collaborate in a manner of kindness and with an unifying cause. Richard Bruce Cheney was born in Lincoln Nebraska on January 30 1941 the child of Richard Herbert Cheney and the former Marjorie Lauraine Dickey. At the age of 13 Richard and his family relocated from Nebraska to Casper which was where his dad worked as head of Casper's U.S. Department of Agriculture local soil conservation district.
